A Way To Laugh Every Day Found In Funny Forwards

Monday, November 30th, 2009

You go to open your email and suddenly everyone in the office is staring at you because you can’t… Stop… Laughing! Your house, typically quiet on a Monday morning, rings out with the raucous sound of your voice lifted with glee and delight! Yes you’ve just received yet another of those funny forwards that make everyone so happy!

Funny forwards are often made by someone taking funny pictures of kittens, puppies or babies and embedding them directly into an email. Many personal email programs let users do various things to an email before sending it out. They can change how big or small text shows up, the colour of the text, or what attachments are included in an email. Some funny forwards just contain links and while these are less pretty, they still serve the purpose of being really funny!

The pictures that get put into funny forwards are sometimes what are called photo manipulated pictures. They might be a normal picture with some words thrown on for humorous intent or they might be changed to show a totally different scene than the original. Hopefully they have the artist signature on the picture. Even if they don’t, they are still funny additions to funny forwards.

Sometimes it’s not words or pictures that we find when we open up funny forwards. It might be a video, either placed right in the email, or a link to another site. There are a lot of funny videos that people are familiar with but still keep handing around. The ol’ bat to the groin video where Dad falls over quite put out for awhile is pretty hilarious. Karaoke or singing videos can be funny as well as light hearted and uplifting. And who can forget the pet videos! Dogs and cats cuddling, rabbits leaping everywhere. And the dog skateboarding all on his own! Very funny! A lot of people get a kick out of funny forwards that contain videos.

Kids say the darndest things and sometimes those are included by their parents or family members in funny forwards. People also like to talk about the practical jokes they’ve played on others, hoping to show everyone how it’s done or just to get a rise out of the person they tricked. Funny forwards can also turn into ways to reconnect with people you’ve lost touch with. You can’t help but scan the list of emails someone has included and see who you know, who knows you. And who you haven’t talked to for some time. Some funny forwards come from people just like that, who want you to hit ‘reply’ and send them back some words about how much you laughed.

It is still important to note that when sending a funny forward out to friends and family, to respect every person’s privacy. It isn’t too hard to choose the BCC option when adding emails, instead of the CC option. BCC will hide the email addresses, as it stands for ‘blind’ carbon copy. By doing this, you help everyone keep safe and feel secure and just a bit more respected.

Funny forwards aren’t always jokes. Sometimes they can be light hearted personal stories. They can also be brain teasers or puzzles, things that make people work just a little bit before they get a smile. Funny forwards can also tell something serious in a light hearted way, that leaves us leaning back in our comfortable chairs, pondering what we just read. Was it real? What does it mean? What do we think about what we just shared with others?

Funny forwards can make people laugh. They also give warm fuzzy feelings inside the belly. Many people don’t get to talk to others, all day long. Opening a personal letter from a friend and seeing a funny forward inside can make all the difference sometimes. And isn’t it just important even for only a few minutes, people have the chance to smile, laugh and feel good, think about something happy? A simple email with a few words to help people feel they’re a part of the joke does that.
